Elon Musk's vision for Twitter: In yet another twist to his tumultuous takeover of Twitter, 52-year-old Tesla founder Elon Musk has revealed that the platform's iconic bird logo will soon be replaced. Musk, who previously referred to his acquisition of Twitter as a catalyst for creating the "X" app, recently tweeted about the impending changes.

"X.com now points to https://twitter.com/. Interim X logo goes live later today," Musk announced on Twitter. The transition signifies a shift away from Twitter's avian branding, which has been a defining feature of the platform since its inception in 2006. It is believed that Twitter initially adopted the bird logo after purchasing a stock symbol of a light blue bird for a mere $15, as reported by Creative Bloq.

In his tweets, Musk hinted at bidding farewell not only to the Twitter brand but also to the imagery associated with it, including the word "tweet" itself, which is derived from bird-related associations. The decision reflects Musk's vision of transforming Twitter into the all-encompassing "X" app, a project that he has linked back to his earlier venture, X.com, established in 1999. X.com later evolved into the well-known digital payment platform, PayPal.

Under Musk's stewardship, Twitter's parent company has already been named the X Corporation, indicating his intention to rebrand the social media giant entirely. However, his leadership has been marked by controversy, with technical failures plaguing the platform since the acquisition. Furthermore, significant restructuring efforts led to the dismissal of a substantial portion of the company's workforce.

Despite these challenges, Twitter still boasts approximately 200 million daily active users, making it a crucial platform for social interactions and news dissemination. As Musk's plans for the platform unfold, the Twitter community eagerly awaits further updates and potential changes to the once bird-inspired interface.
