PTC News Desk: Following the receipt of a bomb threat via email on Wednesday morning, the Mental Health Institute (MHI) in Sector 32 of Chandigarh moved a number of its patients to a different wing.

"There is a bomb inside the Mental Health Institute that is going to explode soon, killing everyone," read an email received by a user from necronecro93@gmail.com with the subject line "Adam Lanza." The email also claims that the act is being carried out by the group "Terrorizers111."

The warning was sent on the same day that bomb threat emails were sent to many institutions in Delhi, including the National Rail Museum, on Wednesday.

The threat was verified by Chandigarh Deputy Superintendent of Police South Dalbir Singh, who also stated that the email was sent at approximately 9.40 am to the hospital's official email address.

Officials said that the police, members of the Chandigarh Fire Services, a bomb disposal squad, and a dog squad had arrived at the institute and were examining the threat. The bomb squad has begun searching the area, and the police have set up a perimeter.

Around nine forty-five minutes after the threat was received, around fifteen patients and students were evacuated to a different wing, according to MHI Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Aprajita Lovana.

According to Chandigarh Senior Superintendent of Police Kanwardeep Kaur, a Gmail ID was used to send the correspondence. It has been revealed that the sender of the letter has previously sent threatening emails around the nation.

According to the police, it looks to be a hoax letter at first glance.
