Tokyo Olympics 2020: Mirabai Chanu may bring gold as China's Hou to undergo doping test
China weightlifter Zhihui Hou who bagged a gold medal in weightlifting at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 on Saturday, will be tested by anti-doping authorities. If she fails the test, India's Mirabai Chanu will be awarded a gold medal. As per the sources, China's Zhihui Hou has been asked to stay in Tokyo till the test is done. Hou bagged gold on Saturday with a total of 210kg, creating a new Olympic Record. She lifted a total of 202 kg (87kg in snatch and 115kg in clean and jerk) during her four successful attempts. On the other side, China's Hou created a new Olympic Record while Indonesia's Windy Cantika Aisah won bronze with a total of 194kg. With a silver medal, Chanu also became the second Indian weightlifter to win an Olympic medal after Karnam Malleswari bagged bronze in the 69kg category at the 2000 Sydney Games. -PTC News
