Telegram gets new download manager, live streaming with other apps and more
Washington, March 12: Popular instant messaging app Telegram just received the latest update that includes plenty of new visual and functional changes to the platform. According to GSM Arena, the latest update for iOS users includes a new download manager with revamped attachment menus that show file download status and download priority controls. A new attachment menu is also available for Apple users, allowing them to select multiple photos or files to send with their contacts. In night mode, Android users get a semi-transparent UI with transparent headers. According to the source, Telegram Channels can now broadcast live streams using tools like OBS Studio and XSplit Broadcaster. Telegram users can now also share their direct phone number as a link via their t.me username. The messaging platform is also providing the option to preview t.me pages in a browser even if a user is not logged into Telegram, according to GSM Arena. Earlier, on March 10, Telegram founder Pavel Durov had reiterated his commitment to the privacy of Ukrainian users. Durov had also written about his Ukrainian ancestry through his mother’s side and the story of how he was forced to leave Russia and VK (a social media company he had founded) because he didn’t comply with the Russian intelligence agency FSB.
