Sukhbir demands for fresh n full scale inquiry in 84' riots in Delhi
Sukhbir demands for fresh n full scale inquiry in 84' riots in Delhi : Shiromani Akali Dal President and former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal said that there was strong case for a fresh and full scale inquiry into the mysterious movements and activities of the Late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi during the 1984 massacre of Sikhs in Delhi. “The Congress leader Jagdish Tytler’s revelations on Rajiv Gandhi’s mysterious presence on Delhi streets during the 1984 massacre had conclusively confirmed that the massacre had been planned, executed and presided over at the highest level in the Congress party , the government and the then Prime Minister.
Tytler’s astounding revelations suggest that the former PM and the Congress party had been lying all the time to country about Rajiv’s schedule for those days, claiming that he (Rajiv Gandhi) had all the time been with the body of his mother. But Tytler’s disclosures have let the cat out of the bag. It must be probed at the highest level ,” said Sukhbir.
The Akali leader said loud calls for revenge against innocent members of the Sikh community were repeatedly heard around Indira Gandhi’s body. “Who was behind these calls and how come these were being openly made before television cameras? Why did no one among the high ups try to put a stop to these slogans ?” Sukhbir question.
The SAD president further said that it was quite shocking that Rajiv had never expressed any regrets over the killing of thousands of innocents by goons loyal to him. “He neither issued an appeal to stop such madness. He never took any initiation to step out and visit the aggrieved families. He in fact let the signal go very loud and clear that he had no sympathy with the innocent victims. ” asked Sukhbir Singh Badal
The former Deputy Chief Minister further said that it was so strange and ironical that even when the Congress government at the centre decided to express “regrets” for this profound human tragedy, many years after Rajiv’s death, it was left to a Sikh Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to do so, as if he had been personally guillty. No one from the Nehru-Gandhi family , the real culprits, has apologized to the innocent victims of the tragedy even up to today, said Sukhbir.
Sukhbir said that as these kind of disclosures have come out of the bag , now nation has the right to know the reality. People must know what happened on the streets of Delhi in those times , what kind of activities and movements were going on in those days .Sukhbir said there was no witness that if anyone had seen him pacifying such dreaded goons on the streets who were activiely doing in the massacre of innocent Sikhs. These are shocking revelations and cannot be allowed to be just read and forgotten,” said Sukhbir.
