WPL 2023: BCCI announces schedule; Mumbai Indians to face Gujarat Giants in opening match
WPL 2023 schedule: A day after the Women’s Premier League auction, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced schedule for the cash-rich league.
The inaugural Women's Premier League will feature five teams competing for T20I supremacy. At the auction, the Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and UP Warriorz selected 87 star players, 30 of whom were overseas cricketers.
According to a press release by the BCCI, the Women's Premier League will consist of 20 league matches and two playoff games played over the course of 23 days. The DY Patil Stadium will host the inaugural women's T20 league on March 4.

On March 5, the Royal Challengers Bangalore will face the Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium, while the UP Warriorz will face the Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium.
The Eliminator will be held on March 24 at the DY Patil Stadium. The Women's Premier League 2023 Final will be held on March 26 at the Brabourne Stadium.
