Bengaluru, November 13: After India's convincing 160-run victory against the Netherlands in the 45th match of the ODI World Cup 2023 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, fielding coach T Dilip expressed confidence in India's momentum, emphasising the team's commitment to playing at their standards.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, fielding coach T Dilip highlighted the team's successful run in the league matches and the importance of maintaining their standards. He acknowledged the overall excellent performance, addressing questions about Mohammed Siraj's misfields and commending the bowlers' commitment to fielding sessions.


When asked about the recently introduced "best fielder medal," Dilip appreciated the positive response from fans on social media. He clarified that the medal represents the players' intent and effort on the field, emphasizing the value they bring to the team beyond mere statistics.

In the match, India won the toss and chose to bat, posting an impressive total of 410/4 in the first inning. Shreyas Iyer (128*), KL Rahul (102), Rohit Sharma (61), Shubman Gill (51), and Virat Kohli (51) contributed significantly to India's formidable total. The Netherlands' Bas de Leede took two wickets, while Paul Van Meekeren and Roelof van der Merwe secured one each.

In the second inning, India successfully defended the target, securing a 160-run win against the Netherlands. Mohammed Siraj led the Indian bowling attack, claiming two wickets for 29 runs. With this victory, Rohit Sharma's side concluded the league stage with a perfect record of nine wins in nine matches.
