Virat fever dominates Aussie newspaper; media celebrates cricketer's arrival with Hindi and Punjabi publication

PTC News Desk: The Indian cricket stalwart Virat Kohli has landed in Australia 10 days before the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The impact of Kohli's arrival was clearly evident with the country's publication which celebrated batting maestro's arrival. 


Virat Kohli managed to capture the front page of the Australian newspapers as the media featured his image along with headline published in both Hindi and Punjabi languages. Kolhli's pre-arrival was a successful gig in hyping the five-Test series between the two teams starting November 22.

The newspaper pages bearing Kohli's face left the Indian fans overwhelmed owing to the hype of star cricketer. Indian fans shared images of the frontpage of a newspaper with the headline, "Yugon ki ladai (Fight for the ages)." The same newspaper also had a section in Punjabi, with an article on young India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. The headline read: "Navam Raja (The new king)."

The Australian media's gesture has left not only Indian fans but also Australian sports journalists pleasantly surprised. The coverage also highlighted on why the Border Gavaskar Trophy are the match-ups to look forward to in the five-Test series. Alon with Kohli it also had stories about Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant, hyping the two youngsters up for the big battle
