Team India’s Rs 125 crore T20 World Cup bonanza: Who Gets What | Check Here

PTC Web Desk: Team India's brilliant performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 has earned Rohit Sharma's side a significant prize of Rs 125 crore. A total of 42 persons, including 15 first-team players, support staff, reserves, and other personnel, travelled to the US and the West Indies for the global cricket event. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that the substantial prize money would be distributed among not only the players, but also support staff, reserves, and other members of the 42-member contingent. The distribution of the prize money varies depending on the role of each individual.

According to a report by the Indian Express, each of the 15 members of India’s main team, including those who did not play a single match, will receive Rs. 5 crore. This amount also extends to head coach Rahul Dravid, who will receive the same Rs 5 crore from the prize pool.



The coaching staff, which includes batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, will each receive Rs 2.5 crore. Members of the selection committee, including their chief Ajit Agarkar, will be awarded Rs 1 crore each.

For the support staff, a diverse group that plays a critical role behind the scenes, substantial rewards have also been allocated. The three physiotherapists, three throwdown specialists, two masseurs, and the strength and conditioning coach will each receive Rs 2 crore. 

"Players and support staff have been informed about the amount of prize money they will be receiving from the BCCI and we have asked everyone to submit an invoice," a BCCI source informed the media.

Additionally, the BCCI selection committee named four reserve players who were part of the T20 World Cup squad. These players, Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed, will each be rewarded with a sum of Rs 1 crore. 

Following the team’s victorious return to India, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also announced an additional cash reward of Rs 11 crore for the team.
