Paris Paralympics 2024: India's Yogesh Kathuniya won silver in the men's discus throw F56 event, making him a Paralympic double medallist. Yogesh, who had won silver in Tokyo, repeated his success at the Stade de France, throwing 42.22m, his season's best. Yogesh threw his best shot on the first of six attempts.

The Indian para-athlete, who has won numerous medals across his career, was hoping for the gold medal. However, Brazil's Claudiney Batista won the gold medal by breaking the Paralympic record with a throw of 46.86m. Yogesh started well with his season-best throw, but in his next five attempts, he was unable to improve on his performance.

This is India's 8th medal at the Paris Paralympics, and their 4th in para-athletics.
