Paris Paralympics 2024: India para-athletes script history, surpass their highest medal tally of 19 in Tokyo edition

Paris Paralympics 2024: India's para-athletes made history in Paris, surpassing their previous high of 19 medals from the Paralympics in Tokyo three years ago. The Indian team has added 20 medals to its ever-growing count and will have the opportunity to break its own record for most medals won in a single Paralympics event.

On Monday and Tuesday, the Indian contingent won 13 medals for the country, bringing the total to a record 20 medals, including three gold, seven silver, and ten bronze.


In the Tokyo edition (August 24-September 5, 2021), India won 19 medals, including five gold, eight silver, and six bronze.

Paris Paralympics 2024 Medal Tally

China continued its domination, winning an outstanding 115 medals. Their athletes won 53 gold medals, 40 silvers, and 22 bronze medals, maintaining their place at the top of the Paris Paralympic medal standings.

Great Britain performed wonderfully, winning 61 medals. Their haul includes 30 golds, 18 silvers, and 13 bronze medals, demonstrating their dominance in a variety of events.

The United States finished third, with 53 medals. American athletes demonstrated their competitive spirit, earning 20 golds, 22 silvers, and 11 bronze medals across a variety of categories.
