Paris Olympics 2024 Day 5: Lakshya Sen, PV Sindhu, and others compete today

Paris Olympics 2024 Day 5: Following a significant day for India's shooting industry, all eyes will be on the badminton players, particularly PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen. On Wednesday, July 31, the Indian shooters will also try to keep up their momentum in the hopes of making it to the medal round.

Boxing athletes will be competing at the Paris Olympics today, and two of the top female players in table tennis will also be competing. In light of this, let's take a look at the elite athletes that aim to represent India with pride.

Lakshya Sen

Lakshya Sen faces a decisive match at the Paris Olympics. As the young maverick faces Jonatan Christie in what is perhaps his most difficult test of the tournament thus far, the stakes are quite high right now. Nothing less than a victory will do, and if he can cross the line on Wednesday, he might have to contend with HS Prannoy in the following round.

PV Sindhu

PV Sindhu will be looking to maintain her momentum when she takes against Kuuba Kristin on Wednesday in an attempt to win a hat-trick of Olympic medals. On Day 5, she will be the one kicking things off for the badminton contingent.

Manika Batra

When Manika Batra became the first Indian table tennis player to get to the pre-quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics in 2024, she wrote history. The Indian, who has been on a great run lately, wants to secure her spot for the quarterfinals and carry on her incredible run.

Deepika Kumari

After the poor performance of the archery team, Deepika Kumari needs to prove something. The Indian archer received a lot of backlash from followers on social media, and on Wednesday, she will be hoping to advance without any problems to the round of 16.

Lovlina Borgohain

The Tokyo Olympics bronze medal winner may have been given a tough draw, but she will be aiming to surely punch her ticket to the next round as she takes on Sunniva Hofstad on Wednesday.
