PTC Web Desk: The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports announced the recipients of the National Sports Awards 2024 on Thursday. The awards will be presented by the President of India at a ceremonial function at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 17. These prestigious awards recognise the exemplary contributions of sportspersons, coaches, and entities to the field of sports in India.
Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award 2024
The Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, the highest sporting honour in India, has been conferred upon the following athletes for their outstanding performance over the last four years:

Praveen Kumar – Para-Athletics

Arjuna Awards for Outstanding Performance in Sports and Games 2024
The Arjuna Award is given for consistent and commendable performance over four years. This year's recipients include:

Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (MAKA) Trophy 2024
The MAKA Trophy, awarded to the top-performing universities in the Khelo India University Games, has been won by:

Lovely Professional University, Punjab – 1st Runner-Up
