IPL Auction 2023: The much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction will be held in Kochi on 23 December. All 10 teams - Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings XI, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad - will try their best to get hold of big players. A total of 405 players will be auctioned at this event. Out of an initial list of 991 players for the 87 vacant slots in these teams, only 369 names were shortlisted earlier. However, 36 additional players were added to the final list at the request of the franchises.

Out of total 405 players, 273 are Indians, the rest 132 are foreign players. The total number of capped players is 119, while there are 282 uncapped players. Out of total vacant slots, 30 foreign players will be brought by the different franchises.
The auction will begin on Friday, December 23 at 2:30 pm and will be telecasted live on Star Sports channel. Viacom18 has the digital broadcast rights of IPL 2023. Live streaming of the auction can be seen on Jio Cinema app and website.
