IPL 2023 Auction: List of most expensive players auctioned in IPL history
IPL Auction 2023: Since the inception of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the glory of the league has captivated fans around the world. League team owners are willing to pay any price to get the best players for their teams. During the auction, many teams will start bidding on the same player, and in such situations the price of that player will increase significantly. There have been many players in the history of the league who have received a lot of money.
Here are five of the highest paid players in the league.
Yuvraj Singh (Delhi Daredevils)
For the 2015 season, Delhi Daredevils purchased Indian player Yuvraj Singh for his Rs 16 crore. Yuvraj was the highest paid player in the league until 2021. He is currently the highest paid Indian player in league history.
Pat Cummins (Kolkata Knight Riders)
For the 2020 season, Kolkata Knight Riders purchased Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins for his Rs 15.5 crore rupees. Cummins' performance that season was not as expected, but Team Kolkata kept him in the squad. Cummins was released after the 2021 season and then bought back at half price.
Ishaan Kishan (Mumbai Indians)
The team threw big bucks in their 2022 Mega Auction and Mumbai Indians were among them. Mumbai spent money very wisely and for Rs 15.25 crore offered to buy Ishan Kishan. Kishan is his second highest paid Indian player in this league.
Ben Stokes (Rising Pune Supergiants)
England star all-rounder Ben Stokes made his first IPL auction in 2017. Rising Pune Supergiants bid Rs 14.5 crore to make Stokes the most expensive player in his first season. Stokes became the most expensive foreign player at the time.
