Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, Dhanashree Verma granted divorce by Mumbai court
PTC News Desk: Indian Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma are officially divorced after a Mumbai Court pronounced decree granting them divorce. The couple had been living separately for the past two years and had filed a petition for divorce on February 5.
The cricketer and his estranged wife had arrived at the Bandra family court at noon for the hearing of their divorce petition. The hearing was scheduled for Thursday after the Bombay High Court directed the family court to expedite the proceedings as Chahal would not be available after March 21 in view of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Chahal is part of the Punjab Kings team.
The tournament is slated to commence from March 22.
Advocate Nitin Kumar Gupta representing Chahal said the court has granted them divorce. "The court has granted the decree of divorce. The parties are now divorced. The parties’ joint petition for mutual consent has been accepted by the court. The parties are no longer husband and wife."
Earlier Bombay High Court had granted Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his estranged wife, Dhanashree Verma, an exemption from the mandatory six-month cooling period in their divorce proceedings.
