ICC Women's T20I rankings: Richa Ghosh, Renuka Thakur secure career-best spots
Dubai (UAE), February 21: India's wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh entered the top 20 of the ICC Women's T20I Player Rankings for the first time and pacer Renuka Singh reached a career-high after excelling in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023.
Ghosh is now the fifth Indian in the top 20, behind Smriti Mandhana (third), Shafali Verma (10th), Jemimah Rodrigues (12th), and Harmanpreet Kaur (13th), who scored an unbeaten 41 against the West Indies and 47 against England over the past week. Renuka Thakur, a new-ball bowler for India, moved up seven spots to a career-best fifth spot with her five for 15 total against England.
Amelia Kerr of New Zealand has risen 10 places to a career-best 16th position after scoring a match-winning 66 against Sri Lanka at Paarl, while Pakistan's left-handed opener Muneeba Ali has risen 10 places to a career-best 64th position after becoming the country's first woman to score a T20I century.
Australia captain Meg Lanning has moved up one spot to fourth after scoring 48 not out against Bangladesh, while former New Zealand captain Suzie Bates has moved up two spots to sixth after scoring 81 not out against Bangladesh and 56 against Sri Lanka.
