ICC Awards 2023 nominees to be revealed soon ahead of global vote
PTC Web Desk: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled its plans for the ICC Awards 2023, aimed at honouring exceptional performances in international cricket throughout the year. 2023 was marked by remarkable events such as the ICC Women's T20 World Cup, gripping finale of the ICC World Test Championship, the record-breaking ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, among others.
Thirteen categories will recognise outstanding individual achievements across men's and women's cricket formats. The prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year and the iconic Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year will be the most sought-after awards.

Between January 3 and January 5, the ICC will progressively unveil shortlists for nine categories on their official platforms. These lists will each feature four nominees, starting with the ICC Emerging Men's and Women's Cricketers of the Year and the Men's and Women's T20I Cricketers of the Year on January 3. On January 4, nominees for the Men's and Women's ODI Cricketers of the Year will be revealed, followed by the final set of shortlists on January 5: the ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year, the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year, and the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year.
Expert cricket writers and broadcasters formed a panel to determine these shortlists based on on-field performances and overall contributions in international cricket throughout the calendar year.
The comprehensive list of award categories for ICC Awards 2023 includes: Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year, Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year, ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year, ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year, ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year, ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year, ICC Women's T20I Cricketer of the Year, ICC Emerging Men's Cricketer of the Year, ICC Emerging Women's Cricketer of the Year, ICC Men's Associate Cricketer of the Year, ICC Women's Associate Cricketer of the Year, ICC Spirit of Cricket Award, and ICC Umpire of the Year.
