PTC News Desk: Hurricane Beryl causes the Indian men's cricket team to arrive later than expected in Barbados. On Sunday night local time, Hurricane Beryl (Category 4) is predicted to pass over Barbados, with its center located about 80 miles off the southern shore.

The Washington Post reported that Beryl is expected to strike the Windward Islands with winds as high as 130 mph. Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, Grenada, and Tobago Island are all under a hurricane warning.

The Indian squad who won the World Cup had originally intended to take a charter flight directly home, but the airport has been closed since Sunday night. We're stuck here too, just like you. We would consider the felicitation once the travel arrangements are finalized, BCCI secretary Jay Shah told reporters in Barbados.

India released the bonds that had bound them for an agonising 11-year period in which they were unable to win an ICC championship.

The trophy drought was finally broken here, and Shah believed the winning streak would continue after losing two ICC finals in the previous 12 months.

"I would like India to take home every title." With just three players from this team heading to Zimbabwe, we have the strongest bench. If necessary, we may field three squads," he stated. Some of the players, including Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Khaleel Ahmed, are also slated to go to Zimbabwe for a five-match Twenty20 International series that kicks off on July 6.

There, Shubman Gill will captain the Indian team while many elders are on leave. In addition, Shah declared that an India A squad will visit Australia in the latter part of the year in preparation for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
