PTC News Desk: Harbhajan Singh turns 44 today. He is one of the greatest spinners of all time. 

Harbhajan, also known as the Turbanator, has achieved great success in his 23-year lucrative sports career. Despite coming from a humble background, Bhajji dominated international cricket for nearly a decade.


Singh, who has played 236 ODIs and 103 Tests, officially retired from cricket in December 2021 after a 23-year career. 

Here are Harbhajan Singh's big accomplishments 

First Indian off-spinner to reach 400 Test wickets.

Harbhajan became the first Indian off-spinner to reach 400 wickets in the game's longest formats when he faced the West Indies in 2011. Singh proudly ranks 15th among Test cricket's highest wicket-takers.

First Indian to score a Test hat-trick

Harbhajan was named 'Man of the Series' after his commendable performance in the India-Australia Test Series in 2001. In the historic second test at Eden Gardens, Bhajji became the first Indian to score a hat-trick in the longer format.

IPL success

Harbhajan became the IPL's fifth-highest wicket-taker, with 150 scalps in 163 matches. The Turbanator also won the IPL trophy four times during his career.

Exceptional performance in 2001 Test match against Australia

Harbhajan Singh delivered an exceptional performance in the famous 2001 Test against Australia in Chennai. Harbhajan's 15 wickets helped India win a famous Test series against the mighty Australians.
