Fastest 50 and 100: Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi relied on a T20-style batting approach to score the fastest fifty in Test cricket history in just three overs against Bangladesh at Green Park in Kanpur on Monday.
This milestone was accomplished on the fourth day of the second Test match, with the opening partnership of Yashasvi Jaiswal (30 runs from 13 balls) and Rohit Sharma (19 runs not out from 6 balls) playing an important role in the achievement.
India smashed England's record for the fastest team fifty, scoring it in three overs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz ultimately clean-bowled Rohit for 11 runs off 23 balls. Earlier in July, England smashed its 30-year-old record for the fastest recorded men's team Test fifty, scoring 50 runs in 4.2 overs against the West Indies at Trent Bridge.
