Asian Games 2023; IND vs PAK in Hockey: The Indian hockey team scripted history at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou's Gongshu Canal Sports Park, defeating archrival Pakistan 10-2 in a dream game. With this, team India secured their place in the semi-finals.
This is India's largest-ever margin of victory over Pakistan in the rivalry's long history. India's previous record was a 7-1 win in the 2017 World League semi-final in London. This is also the biggest-ever triumph in any India-Pakistan match in history, with the Men in Green winning by the same margin twice in the 1980 Champions Trophy in Karachi and the 1982 Asian Games final in Delhi.

Mandeep Singh scored an easy tap-in after a well-worked team effort to give India an early lead. Harmanpreet Singh earned a penalty goal early in the third quarter to double India's advantage before Gujrant's deflected goal assured the three-time gold medalist went into the half-time break with a 4-0 lead.
In the third quarter, Harmanpreet added another penalty corner and penalty stroke goal to his tally of four for the night. Samsher Singh and Varun Kumar also scored for India, but Pakistan scored two consolation goals from the penalty spot.
