Paris Olympics 2024: Aman Sehrawat from Haryana is one of the standout members of the Indian wrestling contingent participating in the Paris Olympics 2024. Aman Sehrawat has swiftly advanced through the round of 16 and quarterfinals in the men's 57kg freestyle wrestling, securing two wins by technical superiority. He is now just one victory away from guaranteeing himself at least a silver medal.

Notably, Aman Sehrawat's journey to the global stage has been marked by significant achievements and rapid progress in his career.

Sehrawat first grabbed attention in 2019 when he clinched the gold medal at the Asian Cadet Championship in Nur-Sultan. This victory was a clear indication of his potential, and he has since continued to build on that promise. In 2023, he further solidified his reputation by winning gold at the Asian Championships in Astana. Sehrawat defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Almaz Smanbekov 9-4 in the final, earning the top spot on the podium.

His success continued at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, where he won a bronze medal in the 57kg category. Competing at the Lin’an Sports and Culture Centre, Sehrawat's performance was impressive, though he narrowly missed out on a higher medal. The gold and silver medals in his category were claimed by Japan’s Toshihiro Hasegawa and North Korea’s Han Chong-song, respectively.

Aman Sehrawat’s consistent excellence extends beyond these major tournaments. He has accumulated an impressive collection of five medals in the Grand Prix circuit --- two gold, two silver, and one bronze. These medals were earned at prestigious events in Almaty, Zagreb, Tunisia, Budapest, and again in Zagreb, showcasing his ability to compete and succeed on the international stage. Additionally, Sehrawat has also secured medals at both the Asian and World Cadet Championships, further underlining his status as a rising star in Indian wrestling.

Aman Sehrawat’s qualification for the Paris Olympics 2024 was no less remarkable. He earned his spot through the World Wrestling Olympic Qualifiers held in Istanbul, Turkiye, in May. In the semi-finals, he delivered a dominant performance, defeating Korea’s Han Chong-song 12-2 to secure his ticket to Paris. With this victory, Sehrawat became the only Indian male wrestler to qualify for the 2024 Olympics.

Notably, he is the sole representative of Indian male wrestling at the Paris Olympic Games 2024.
