Paris Olympics 2024: Following a disappointing conclusion to her campaign for the Paris Olympics 2024, PV Sindhu has stated that she is not going away and will return to the badminton court shortly after taking a "small break." In the women's singles Round of 16 match on Thursday, Sindhu lost to China's He Bing Jiao 19-21, 14-21, ending her hopes of winning an Olympic medal for the third time in a row.

As the only female athlete from India to earn multiple medals heading into the Olympics in Paris, Sindhu had won silver and bronze in her previous two Olympics. Manu Bhaker has since equaled that record.

Sindhu wrote an emotional message on Instagram following her elimination from the Paris Olympics, describing her loss to He Bing Jiao as one of the "hardest" of her illustrious career. Sindhu had hoped to become the first Indian athlete to win three individual medals for her nation.

"Paris 2024: A Magnificent Adventure but a Tough Departure." Throughout my lengthy career, this loss may have been the hardest. Although accepting it will take some time, she stated, "I know I will come to terms with it as life moves forward."

The ace shuttler gave it her all in the Olympics, she said, despite having been sidelined by injuries for the previous two years.

"The road to Paris 2024 was difficult, characterized by two years of injuries and extended absences from competition. Despite these difficulties, I feel incredibly fortunate to be here and represent my amazing nation at a third Olympics, Sindhu wrote.

It's an enormous honor for me to be able to compete at this level and, more significantly, to motivate a new generation. During this difficult time, your messages have been a huge source of comfort. I had no regrets about giving it our best on the court for Paris 2024, along with my squad.

In addition, Sindhu declared that she will be taking a sabbatical before continuing in the sport that she adores "so very much."

I want to be clear about my plans for the future: I will carry on, but with a brief pause. Not only does my body require it, but my mind also does. I will, however, carefully consider the path ahead and discover greater satisfaction in engaging in the activity I adore.
