Sonali Phogat murder case: Sukhwinder Singh, Sudhir Sangwan sent to 10-day police remand
Chandigarh, August 27: Two main accused in Sonali Phogat murder case- Sukhwinder Singh and Sudhir Sangwan has been sent to 10-day police remand. Meanwhile, police also arrested 2 more in the case, drug peddler Dattprashad Gaonkar and owner of Curlies Beach Shack in Anjuna Edwin Nunes reaching arrest tally to 4. The owner of the shack where drugs were found has been arrested too. The investigation is going on well. Multiple teams are working. We will send one team to Haryana too." DGP also stated that they will send one team to Haryana for the further investigation in Sonali Phogat case. As per the sources, family will also be investigated. An FIR has also been registered against drug peddler under the section of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Meanwhile, on Friday Sonali Phogat’s PA Sudhir Sangwan and his associate, Sukhwinder Singh was arrested in connection with the alleged murder and during questioning and investigation they also confessed that they intentionally mixed some "obnoxious" chemical substance in the drink. Moreover, so far statements of around 20-25 people have been recorded in the case. In CCTV footage also, three of them- Sonali and his PA’s were seeing partying at the club. A video establishes that one of them forcefully made the victim consume a substance," Inspector General of Police Omvir Singh Bishnoi said.
