Shot put champion Tejinder Pal loses father before he could show him Asian Games gold Tejinder Pal Singh Toor made the entire nation proud as he clinched a gold medal in shot put at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia. On his return home, however, the 23-year-old lost his father Karam Singh. His father was fighting with cancer for a long period of time. Tejinder was eager to share the achievement with his father but just a few hours before reaching home, he heard of the father's demise. Tejinder had only left from the Delhi airport for his village Moga in Punjab after arriving from Indonesia when he heard of the heart-breaking news. "AFI is in deep shock. We received Tejinder Toor,our Asian Shot Put Champion Gold Medalist at the airport last night & as he was on his way to hotel, sad news of his father's demise reached us. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Our heartfelt condolences to Tejinder & his family," the AFI tweet read.
