Security beefed up in Punjab after grenade attack in Ajnala
A alert has been sounded in Punjab after grenade attack in Ajnala in Punjab’s Amritsar district.
Security at the various places in Punjab have been beefed up amid the possibility of infiltration of terrorists in the region. The security personnel has been deployed at the various check points in Punjab and is keeping eye on every situation.
According to intelligence reports, information about the presence of terrorists in Amritsar,ferozepur,Gurdaspur areas was received.
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has already announced compensation of Rs five lakh each to the kin of the deceased and free treatment of injured in the Bomb blast incident in Amritsar’s Adliwal village,on Sunday.
As per reports, four people were killed and at least 10 others have been injured in a blast at Nirankari Bhawan in Amritsar’s Adliwal village.
The blast occurred at congregation of the Nirankari, a spiritual organisation, in Adliwal village of Rajasansi town in Amritsar.
Eyewitnesses said the explosions were triggered by two miscreants who flung the explosives into the satsang.As per the reports,more than dozen persons who sustained fatal injuries were rushed to various hospitals in Amritsar and are under treatment.
Deputy Commissioner, Kamaldeep Singh Sangha said that they are investigating the incident. Police have also launched a massive search operation to nab the suspects. TV reports said that a SWAT team has been deployed. State’s border with Rajasthan has also been sealed
News of the explosions spread panic in this northern town, and triggered memories of the 2015 attack on a police station in Pathankot.
