Threads vs Twitter: Meta owner Instagram has unveiled its new app called 'Threads,' designed to directly compete with Elon Musk's Twitter.

Threads will be available in over 100 countries, with iOS and Android apps, and new features such as a better recommendation engine and search functionality will be added gradually.

The App Store description read, "Threads is where communities come together to discuss everything from the topics you care about today to what'll be trending tomorrow. Whatever it is you're interested in, you can follow and connect directly with your favorite creators and others who love the same things -- or build a loyal following of your own to share your ideas, opinions and creativity with the world."

Threads vs Twitter | In 10 points 

Character count: In Threads, text posts will be limited to 500 characters in length. On the other side, in Twitter text post has a 280-character limit. 

Linking: Threads will be linked to individuals' Instagram profiles, making it easy to connect with followers, famous personalities or brands, whereas no linking feature was there in Twitter. 

Uploading: On Threads, user will be able to upload the video or post within five minutes. Meanwhile, it takes approx two minutes while uploading on Twitter. 

Interaction: People using compatible apps will be able to follow and interact with people on Threads without having a Threads account, and vice versa, ushering in a new era of diverse and interconnected networks. 

Social Networking Protocol: Threads is Meta's first app envisioned to be compatible with an open social networking protocol by joining this fast-growing ecosystem of interoperable services. 

Modifications to TweetDeck: Threads introducing big modifications to TweetDeck, a tool used by many journalists and social media professionals, because Twitter Deck began to malfunction, allegedly due to scrapers scouring the web for data to feed AI models. 

Ads: Finally, good news for users as Threads are launched without ads, whereas Twitter contains ads. 

Sensitive Info: The newly launched app Threads contains sensitive information which includes racial, sexual religious, genetic or biometric data. On the other hand, Twitter does not have any such feature. 


Trending feed: On Threads, users can explore the trending by scrolling through homepage. On the other side, on Twitter the homepage has a separate column of trending or any other topic. 

Draft option: Threads does not have any option of save draft unlike Twitter.
