Surya Grahan update: Solar Eclipse on March 29; check timings and know how to watch
PTC Web Desk: A rare celestial event, the solar eclipse (Surya Grahan), is set to take place on March 29. This will be a partial solar eclipse, where the Moon partially obscures the Sun, creating a mesmerising astronomical spectacle.
Where will Solar Eclipse be visible?
The March 2025 solar eclipse will not be visible in India. However, it can be observed from several parts of the world, including the United States, Canada, Greenland, and Iceland.
One of the most fascinating aspects of this eclipse is the "double sunrise" effect. In certain locations, as the Sun begins to rise, the eclipse will already be in progress. When the eclipse ends, the Sun will appear to rise once again, giving the illusion of two sunrises.

How to watch Solar Eclipse?
Since the eclipse is not visible from India, enthusiasts can watch it via live streams on various online platforms. For those in regions where it is visible, protective eyewear such as solar eclipse glasses or handheld solar viewers is essential to avoid eye damage.
According to Timeanddate.com, the eclipse will be visible to over 814 million people worldwide, covering 9.94% of the global population. However, only about 44,800 individuals will experience the peak of the eclipse.
Eclipses often occur in close succession. This March 2025 solar eclipse follows a lunar eclipse that took place on March 13–14. In some cases, a lunar eclipse can also follow a solar eclipse.
