Sant Harchand Singh Longowal Death Anniversary: Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal addressed the people at the Longowal in Sangrur, where SAD have organized an event marking the martyrdom of Harchand Singh Longowal. He said that Punjab was issued to Chandigarh but so far it is the capital of both Punjab and Haryana. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Shiromani Akali Dal is the oldest party after Congress in the history of India. "There is just Akali Dal who always made sacrifices", added Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Sukhbir Singh Badal said, that while whole Punjab was welcoming the Palki Sahib and International Nagar Kirtan, coming from Sri Nankana sahib to celebrate the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, none of those who brought Bargari front, came to even worship. He said it is just that they want to spread untoward situation in Punjab and defame Akalis.

Sukhbir Singh Badal attacked Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and said that it was disgrace by the Chief Minister who swore an oath at Gutka Sahib. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Congress is celebrating the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi, which is very shameful. "Akali Dal Leaders have sacrificed have been in jail for years for the sake of the nation, even we won the battle of Emergency, because of Shiromani Akali Dal", added Badal.
He further said that any development that took place in Punjab, was done during the power of Akali-BJP. He said that Congress created a government by lying to the people of Punjab. Health insurance plan is also the plan of the Central government, besides all the schemes running in Punjab, is been funded by the Central government.

Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Punjab has gone far behind in the last two and a half years. He said that the International Nagar Kirtan is here from Sri Nankana Sahib, Pakistan to celebrate the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Also, the International Nagar Kirtan is making a journey across India, and wherever it is going, the Chief Minister of the state is welcoming the Palki Sahib, but Punjab Chief Minister didn't welcome it.
Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the Aam Aadmi Party and the rest of the other parties are the agents of the Congress party. He said that the progress of Punjab won't be initiated by joking around, but by the work being done by the leader. Shiromani Akali Dal will form circle members who will together form the Circle President.
