SAD-BSP manifesto promises transfer of Chandigarh, other Punjabi areas to Punjab
Chandigarh: With a few days to go for the Punjab Assembly elections 2022, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Tuesday released joint manifesto. The main agenda will be to enhance the Government schools and hospitals. In the SAD-BSP manifesto, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have taken up the key demands concerning Punjab and Punjabis. The SAD-BSP manifesto states that the SAD-BSP alliance, if voted to power, would ensure 5 lakh pucca houses and 5 marla plots free of cost for homeless and kutcha householders, besides solar power resolution to ensure zero power bill. Promising direct benefits, the SAD-BSP manifesto, for the Punjab Assembly elections 2022, stated that Rs 2,000 per month will be given to women heads of BPL card families; 800 units free power to every household in a billing cycle; health insurance of Rs 10 lakh to all; 500-bed Government Medical Colleges and Hospitals with Super Speciality Facilities in every district and Student Card worth Rs 10 lakh. The other benefits include the Shagun Scheme amount being raised to Rs. 75,000; old-age pension scheme amount to be raised to Rs 3,100, pay commission recommendations to be implemented (anomalies to be removed); the number of blue card beneficiaries to be expanded; the revival of 2004 pension scheme for government employees; Regularisation of services of contractual and outsource employees, safai karamcharis; MSP on fruit, vegetables, and milk; revolutionary hydroponic (water base farming) to be subsidised to triple farmer's income; Rs.50,000/acre crop insurance; Rs.10/liter cheaper diesel for agriculture; underground water pipe irrigation system; Kandi Area Development Ministry. Likewise, it promises the establishment of Manyavar Kanshi Ram Medical University; Bhagwan Valmiki Ji University in Doaba; Baba Saheb Ambedkar University in Doaba; Guru Ravidas Ji University (Comparative Religions); Skill University for Global Employability of Youth; Digital University to be started.
