Kiev (Ukraine), March 12: The Russian troops destroyed Vasylkiv military airfield in Vasylkiv city of Kiev Oblast in Ukraine by dropping eight missiles, informed mayor Nataliia Balasynovych on Saturday. According to The Kyiv Independent, the enemy forces also destroyed a local oil depot while the fire broke out at an ammunition depot. As the tensions escalate, the death toll continues to rise with each passing day. As per Ukraine's media outlet, Russia's war killed a total of 79 Ukrainian children. Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, about 100 children have been injured, according to the Prosecutor General's Office. According to figures from the Ukrainian Armed Forces as of March 12, more than 12,000 enemy troops had been killed, with 362 tanks destroyed. Meanwhile, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has informed that the humanitarian situation in Ukraine is deteriorating at an alarming pace. Russia destroyed Vasylkiv military airbase According to the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR, 1.9 million people have been internally displaced and over 2.3 million have crossed international borders out of Ukraine. As per the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), 1,506 civilian casualties were recorded between February 24 and March 9 at the end of the day, including 549 individuals killed, 41 of them were children.
