Russia-Ukraine war: Former Ukrainian beauty queen Anastasiia Lenna joins fight
Ukraine, February 27: As Russia extends its offensive against Ukraine, the commoners have joined the security forces in a bid to combat the Russian forces. Reportedly, a beauty queen and former Miss Grand Ukraine, Anastasiia Lenna, has also joined the Ukrainian military to combat the Russian invasion.
Lenna took to social media to announce that she had responded to the call to defend her home.
The Ukrainian beauty queen also shared an Instagram Story featuring Ukrainian soldiers and wrote, "Everyone who crosses the Ukrainian border with the intent to invade will be killed!"
In 2015, Lenna participated in the Miss Grand International beauty pageant as a representative of Ukraine.
Earlier, Kira Rudik, a Ukrainian Member of Parliament, had posted a photo of herself holding a gun. "I learn to use Kalashnikov and prepare to bear arms. It sounds surreal, as just a few days ago it would never come to my mind. Our #women will protect our soil the same way as our #men," Kira Rudik tweeted.

Even Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, is said to be engaged in the battle, fighting alongside Ukrainian soldiers.
Meanwhile, in a bid to end the war, Ukrainian authorities have agreed to hold peace talks in Belarus.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy had rejected the Kremlin's offer of talks in Belarus on Sunday, saying the country was a staging ground for the Russian invasion.
Zelenskiy, on the other hand, had left the possibility of negotiations in other locations open. Notably, Russia had offered to hold peace talks with Ukrainian officials in the Belarusian city of Gomel.
