Revenue Kanungo Assn, Patwar Union protest over cancellation of posts
Chandigarh, September 9: The Patwar Union and Revenue Kanungo on Friday staged a protest against the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government in Punjab over the cancellation of posts for Patwaris.
Meanwhile, the unions also staged a protest in Bathinda from 11 am to 2 pm.
The protesters raised anti-government slogans and stated that Punjab Government has abolished 1,056 posts of patwaris out of 4,716, leaving only 3660 posts. The agitators further claimed that by abolishing these posts, the government had limited employment opportunities.
According to demonstrators, a protest rally will be held on September 15 in Sangrur district for the restoration of these posts, and if the government does not heed their demands, the protest will be intensified.
