Relief for PSPCL as rain brings down power demand
Patiala, September 25: In a major relief for Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), the power demand in the state has dropped significantly due to continuous rains for the last two days. In Punjab, the power demand was recorded at 4100 MW on Sunday morning. The power consumption peaked at 15,000 MW earlier in the summer, during the paddy sowing season. However, the constant rain has caused the temperature to plummet. Meanwhile, according to the sources, 12 out of 15 units of five thermal plants are shut. Both units of the Rajpura thermal plant are running at half capacity, sources said. Talwandi Sabo unit is also running at half capacity.
