Rain causes waterlogging in several areas of Delhi, air quality improved
New Delhi, October 9: As heavy rain poured on Delhi on Saturday, waterlogging was reported in various areas, causing traffic jams around the city.
According to the India Meteorological Department, more rain is expected in the city and surrounding areas on Sunday.
The continuous downpour has also lowered the temperature by several degrees, according to officials, who also stated that the city's air quality has improved.
Notably, various parts of the Delhi-NCR and other adjoining areas have been witnessing incessant rains for the last 40 hours.

In the last 24 hours, Safdarjung, Lodhi Road, and Ayaynagar got 74.3mm, 87.2mm, and 85.2mm of rain, respectively. The Delhi Ridge and Palam received 60 and 64mm of rain.
These figures, according to experts, are unusual for October.
While the streets of the nation's capital were swamped, the Met Office projected significant rainfall for Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and parts of the Northeast.
