R-Day Parade 2022: UP bags best tableau award, Maharashtra wins in popular choice category
Republic Day Parade 2022: Among the 12 States/UTs that participated in the grand R-Day parade, Uttar Pradesh has bagged the best tableau award, while Maharashtra has won in the popular choice category, informed the Ministry of Defence on Friday.
According to the ministry, the theme of Uttar Pradesh's tableau was 'One District One Product and Kashi Vishwanath Dham'. Meanwhile, the theme of the tableau of Maharashtra was 'Biodiversity and State Bio-symbols of Maharashtra'.
Results for best tableaux and best marching contingents of Republic Day parade 2022 have also been announced by the three panels of judges. The panels were appointed for assessing the performance of marching contingents from the three Services, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF)/other Auxiliary forces and tableaux from various States/Union Territories (UTs) and Central Ministries/Departments, said the ministry.
The Indian Navy marching contingent was declared to be the best marching contingent among the three Services based on the panels' assessments. Among the CAPF/other auxiliary forces, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has been named the best marching contingent.
Furthermore, tableaux of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Civil Aviation have been declared joint winners in the category of Central ministries/departments on Friday. The Ministry of Education and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship's tableau was themed 'National Education Policy,' while the Ministry of Civil Aviation's tableau was themed 'Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik.'

Among the 12 States/UTs, Karnataka managed to grab the second spot for its tableau, themed 'Cradle of Traditional Handicrafts'. Meghalaya won the third position for its tableau on 'Meghalaya's 50 years of Statehood and its tribute to women-led cooperative societies and SHGs'.
In addition, the tableaux of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (CPWD), themed 'Subhash @125' and the 'Vande Bharatam' dance group have been selected for the special prize category.
For the first time, the general public was invited to vote for the best marching contingents and best tableaux in the popular choice category through the MyGov platform, with the online poll conducted between January 25 to January 31 of this year.
The Indian Air Force's marching group has been voted the best marching contingent among the three Services by the people. Among CAPF/other auxiliary forces, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) won the most votes on MyGov as the best marching contingent.
