Quash all false FIRs against protesting farmers, BJP MP Varun Gandhi writes to PM Modi
Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement to repeal the three contentious farm laws, BJP MP Varun Gandhi has written a letter to the former saying many innocent lives of farmers could have been saved had the decision been taken earlier. BJP MP Varun Gandhi has always been critical of the three farm laws. In the letter to PM Narendra Modi on Saturday, the BJP’s MP from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh sought a compensation of Rs 1 crore compensation for such families, quashing “politically motivated false FIRs” against the protesters and making MSP (Minimum Support Price) legally binding. He said the Lakhimpur Kheri incident was blemish on democracy. Eight persons, including four farmers, were killed in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3 after a convoy of three SUVs, including one owned by Union MoS for Home Ajay Mishra, hit a group of farmers. Ashish Mishra was arrested later.
