Punjab Vigilance names four more as accused in transportation tender scam
Ludhiana, September 20: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau's Ludhiana unit named four more people including two officials as accused in the alleged transportation tenders scam on Monday. Four people including two officials - Surinder Kumar Beri, retired district food and supplies controller (DFSC); Jagandeep Dhillon, PUNSUP district general manager - have been nominated in the FIR. Meanwhile, the PUNSUP district general manager Jagandeep Dhillon has also been suspended. The other two nominated in the FIR are commission agents (arhtiyas) - Anil Jain and Mahavir Bansal. They have yet to be arrested. According to sources, during the interrogation of the other suspects, their names were verified in irregularities involving tenders, transportation and storage of food grains, and fake billing.
