Punjab Vigilance arrests Patiala's lineman on corruption charge
Patiala, August 17: Aiming to eradicate corruption in the state the Punjab Vigilance Bureau during its ongoing campaign on Wednesday nabbed Lineman Krishan Kumar, posted in PSPCL sub division Kalyan, Patiala district while taking bribe of Rs 10,000. Briefing about the details, spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau (VB) said that the accused lineman has been arrested on the complaint of Sukhwinder Singh from Patiala. Also Read| Gurdaspur: DC issues warning ahead of water release from Ranjit Sagar Dam Vigilance Bureau informed that the complaint has been approached and alleged that Krishan Kumar had already taken Rs 3,000 as bribe for installation of domestic electricity meter at his plot on Nabha road Patiala. He added that the accused lineman now demanding Rs 10,000 more as bribe to further share it with concerned SDO and 2 JEs posted at PSPCL Kalyan. Spokesperson further informed that after verification of facts in the complaint the VB laid a trap and the accused lineman was arrested accepting bribe Rs 10,000 as second instalment in the presence of two official witnesses.
