Punjab VB questions DIG Inderbir Singh in drugs, corruption case
Chandigarh, August 22: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Monday questioned Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Inderbir Singh in a drugs and corruption case and for accepting bribe. On July 6, the case was registered under Drugs and Corruption Act against DSP of Tarn Taran and others. Also Read | One seriously injured as truck union factions clash in Bathinda Notably, after the arrest of one Surjit Singh with 900 grams of opium and subsequent interrogation, the Vigilance head booked Tarn Taran DSP and other on charges of corruption. During interrogation, the accused had confessed to having given bride to DSP and others. When DSP was questioned, he also alleged the involvement of DIG Inderbir Singh. However, DIG has refuted the allegation and termed it as baseless. Meanwhile, the case is being investigated by Ferozepur SSP (Vigilance) Gurmeet Singh and SSP (Vigilance) Amritsar Surinder Singh.
