Punjab SP Gurjot Kaler unfurls Tricolor on top of world's tallest free-standing mountain
Chandigarh, August 16: Punjab Police Superintendent (SP), Gurjot Singh Kaler celebrated 75th Independence Day in a very unique and adventurous way. Punjab SP paid tribute to Independence Day by hoisting the tricolor on the top of the world's tallest free-standing mountain and the highest mountain of African Continent in Tanzania - Mount Kilimanjaro at the height of 5,895 meters. Dedicated to the spirit of combating climate change and global warming. Mission to inspire the youth to fight against drugs and promotion of sports culture.” Taking to his official Twitter account, he wrote, “My first world summit. 15th August 2022 With God's grace and parents blessings, I have successfully unfurled the National Flag of India atop the world's tallest free standing mountain - Mount Kilimanjaro at the height of 5,895 meters.”
Meanwhile, earlier, Gurjot Singh Kaler had done the summit of Mount Hurro of Machhadhar range in the Himalayas. He is a trained mountaineer and was honored with the award of best mountaineer by Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) in 2018 during his course of Basic Mountaineering Course (BMC). He had also done a skydive from 15000 feet at Nottingham, UK to honor the corona warriors in 2019. He is currently working as Joint Director Vigilance in Punjab Police.
