Punjab Roadways’ staff strike: All Punjab bus stands to be closed for two hours on September 24
The Punjab Roadways Union has announced that all bus stands in Punjab will remain closed for two hours on Friday (September 24) in protest against the state government.
All bus stands in Punjab will remain closed for two hours i.e. 10 am to 12 pm on Friday (September 9).

Earlier, the Union had closed the bus stands across the state on September 9. Even the contractual employees of the Punjab Roadways had held a meeting with the Punjab Government led by the then Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. However, it remained inconclusive.

The main demand of the Punjab Roadways’ employees included the regularisation of their services.
As many as 2,000 buses were affected across the state due to the strike by the contractual workers on September 9.
In the past few months, the Punjab government has been facing a series of protests after the implementation of the sixth pay commission recommendations.
Now that Charanjit Singh Channi has been appointed as the Chief Minister, the employees are asking the newly-appointed CM to fulfill their demands.
