Punjab reports 3,922 new Covid-19 cases, 9 deaths; patients on oxygen support increased
Coronavirus Punjab Update: Punjab on Sunday reported 3,922 new cases of Covid-19 and 9 new fatalities in the last 24 hours. The State also witnessed a 264 percent rise in the number of Covid patients on oxygen support.
Among new cases of Covid-19 in Punjab, Patiala reported 768 new cases while SAS Nagar reported 750, Ludhiana 509, Amritsar 305, Jalandhar 292, Pathankot 256, Bathinda 204, Hoshiarpur 132, Gurdaspur 118, FG Sahib 108, Ropar 106, Ferozepur 76, Faridkot 45, and Kapurthala 43.

Likewise, Moga reported 37, Fazilka 35, Sangrur 33, Mansa 28, Tarn Taran 22, SBS Nagar 21, Muktsar 20, and Barnala 14.
Apart from a rise in Covid-19 cases in Punjab, the number of patients on oxygen support has increased in the past 24 hours. A total of 226 patients were put on oxygen support from 62 on Friday, 264 percent in just 24 hours.
On January 1. only 23 patients were on oxygen support.
Meanwhile, Punjab reported 145 new recoveries. Among these, Amritsar reported 19 new recoveries, while FG Sahib reported 6, Gurdaspur 3, Hoshiarpur 8, Jalandhar 24, Kapurthala 3, Ludhiana 16, Moga 1, Muktsar 1, Pathankot 38, Patiala 8, SAS Nagar 15, and SBS Nagar 3.
Punjab added 9 new deaths due to coronavirus. These include one each from Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, SAS Nagar, Pathankot, Patiala, and Sangrur.
