Punjab government declares holiday on 400th Prakash Purab of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
Punjab government on Thursday declared May 1, 2021, as a gazetted holiday on the occasion of the 400th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. The holiday in Punjab for May 1 on the occasion of 400th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji has also been notified under the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. He had said that online kirtans will be organized by the government on Television and social media channels. Also, he had urged people to offer Ardas for ‘sarbat da bhala’ from their homes only. While the state had been looking forward to celebrating the great event in a befitting manner in memory of the Guru Ji’s sacrifice for Hindus, the situation was not conducive to grand celebrations, he noted.
