Punjab elections to be environmental-friendly, says Punjab Chief Electoral Officer
Ahead of Punjab Assembly elections 2022, State Chief Electoral Officer, Karuna Raju on Thursday said that the rationalisation of polling booths has been completed.
Karuna Raju said that the rationalization of polling booths has been completed and the voters' list is in its final stage.

80 percent of assistant returning officers have undergone their training to oversee the candidate nominees, for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections 2022, he said.
"Keeping Covid-19 in mind, safe and environmental-friendly elections will be held," he said, adding that "Health Secy every day coordinates the health scenario with me."

"All poll parties must be vaccinated and all Covid-related bio-waste material to be disposed off properly," said Punjab Chief Electoral Officer.
He further said that "In a total of 2.12 crore voters, we especially focussed to add more transgenders to the voters' list."
"More than 24,000 booths have been established. A state security plan has thus been prepared, our requirements conveyed to the Election Commission," Punjab Chief Electoral Officer added.
