Punjab Congress to stage protest in front of Jalandhar’s ED office
Jalandhar, June 13: A dharna will be staged by the Congress party in front of the ED office in Jalandhar on Monday. The demonstration will be led by Punjab Congress Committee President Amarinder Singh Raja Waring. The dharna will be held in front of the ED office at 10 am. Rahul Gandhi will appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case on Monday morning. The ED on Friday issued a fresh summons to Sonia Gandhi asking her to appear on June 23 for questioning in connection with the National Herald money laundering case. Meanwhile, the Congress had planned to stage a protest in the national capital over the issue. The Congress had sought permission to hold a rally from the party office to the ED office but according to senior Delhi Police officials, they have not been allowed. He was earlier summoned to join the investigation but he was out of the country and later he was given a fresh date of June 13 to join the probe. Meanwhile, the Congress party has alleged that it is a "political vendetta" and the case has no grounds for investigation.
