Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann expands Cabinet, 5 new ministers take oath
Mohali, July 4: Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Monday administered the oath of office to two-time AAP MLA from Sunam Aman Arora, Dr Inderbir Nijjar, an MLA from Amritsar South, Fauja Singh Sarari, MLA from Guruharsahai; Chetan Singh Jouramajra, who represents Samana in the Legislative Assembly and Kharar MLA Anmol Gagan Mann as Cabinet ministers at the Raj Bhawan. Notably, Punjab can have 18 ministers, including the Chief Minister. Earlier, there were 10 ministers in the Punjab cabinet, including CM Bhagwant Mann. After Monday’s expansion, three posts will still be vacant. Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann CM had dropped Dr Vijay Singla as the Health Minister on corruption charges. The strength of the Bhagwant Mann-led Cabinet would reach 15, including the CM. The AAP had stormed to power in Punjab by bagging 92 seats out of a total of 117.
