Punjab Cabinet to meet on November 6, may cut fuel prices
Punjab Finance and Taxation Minister Manpreet Singh Badal on Friday said the Punjab Government would decide on reducing petrol and diesel prices at the next Cabinet meeting on November 6.
Addressing the media after paying obeisance to Lord Vishwakarma during a state-level function organised on his birth anniversary in Ludhiana on Friday, Manpreet Singh Badal said the Punjab Government was keen on slashing the prices of petrol and diesel to give relief to the people. However, final decision would be taken at the Punjab Cabinet meeting on November 6.

The Punjab Finance Minister said the Union Government should have reduced more excise duty.
Among those present on the occasion were MLAs Surinder Kumar Dawar, Sanjay Talwar, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, Punjab Medium Industrial Development Board (PMIDB) chairman Amarjeet Singh Tikka and Punjab Youth Board Development chairman Sukhwinder Singh Bindra.
Manpreet Singh Badal said the state government had to take care of every sector, including education, health, electricity, police, and infrastructure development.

He alleged that the Central Government levied more taxes on petrol and diesel as compared to states. The Punjab Government was keen on cutting the prices of petrol and diesel and reduction would be announced at the Cabinet meeting, he added.
On the occasion, the Finance Minister also announced a grant of Rs 1 crore for revamping Lord Vishwakarma temple.
