Punjab BJP president Ashwani Sharma attacked by agitating farmers
Ashwani Sharma attacked During Punjab Farmers Protest: Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Ashwani Sharma had a narrow escape after his vehicle in which he was travelling was attacked by the agitating farmers at a toll booth near Tanda in Hoshiarpur district.
As per the report, the farmers who attacked Ashwani Sharma in Tanda, Hoshiarpur, belonged to the Kisan Sangarsh Committee. The agitating farmers had blocked the toll booth.

Meanwhile, the police personnel present on the spot went on to rescue Ashwani Sharma and later took him to the Dasuya Police Station.

After this attack on Punjab BJP President Ashwani, the party workers have started protesting by jamming the highway.
The BJP workers said that the attack on Ashwani Sharma has been done as a conspiracy.
They say that this protest will continue until they get justice. If Ashwani is not safe in the district, then what will happen to the common worker, the BJP workers said, adding that "We are expressing anger by jamming the highway."
Meanwhile, the Media Advisor to Punjab CM, Raveen Thukral, quoted Captain Amarinder Singh as saying: "Strongly condemn attack on BJP Punjab chief Ashwani Sharma and have asked DGP Punjab Police to identify culprits and take immediate action. Won't let anyone disturb the state's peace or take the law into their hands."
The Chief Minister added that "'There is no question of Punjab Congress involvement in the attack on Punjab BJP chief Ashwani Sharma and BJP should refrain from making frivolous & politically motivated allegations. This is highly irresponsible as Punjab Police are investigating the case."
Punjab Farmers protest has been intensified ever since the 3 Farm laws were passed in the Parliament.
